As a boy growing up in the flat lands of Indiana, I viewed Alfred Stieglitz's series on clouds, he called Equivalence. Stieglitz's Equivalence series became a revelation to me of photography as Art. I was mesmerized by this meditative connection to nature. The interplay between light and dark spoke to my own view of the world. Photography continues to inspire me and connect me to nature. As I have gotten older and retired with my wife in Thailand, I hope that my photography both celebrates the beauty in the natural world and inspires in others the courage to protect our common heritage. My life as a photographer has revealed a life of almost unimaginable beauty and wonder. I hope my photography contributes to a profound respect for both wilderness and a desire to protect it.
